Israel's Refugees
Israel, a country whose history is defined by the Jewish right of return, is now coming face to face with modern migration. Looking for understanding, freedom from persecution and security, a wave of African migrants are seeking refuge in this wealthy accessible country.
Many Israelis worry that the African immigrants threaten the country's national identity. Human rights groups say this fear prevents the government from treating the new arrivals fairly.

The series uses documentary photojournalism and audio in a 'slideshow' style format, and was exec produced by the BAFTA winning filmmaker David Modell.

Sapphira Madagascar is an exposè of the Madagascan Sapphire trade - from the miners themselves to the ministers in the government trying to combat corruption, child labour and appalling working conditions.
Originally a four part slideshow, the piece was re-versioned for BBC News Online 'In Depth' reports, and published in Chatham House's 'The World Today' magazine.
